Websites for language schools: courses, placement, funding and sign-up

Language learners look for three things: the right level, a schedule that fits their life, and a price they or their employer pay. Many arrive via searches like "German course B1 evenings" plus city. A language school website must answer these questions in a few clicks and allow sign-up without paper forms. Examples use German rules.

Courses by level, format and time

Every course needs clear details:

  • Language and level by the Common European Framework of Reference, from A1 to C2.
  • Format: intensive, evening, weekend, one-to-one, online or on site.
  • Next start dates with free places.
  • Price, duration, teaching units and materials.
  • Exam preparation and whether you are an exam centre yourself.

Placement and sign-up online

A short online placement test or a form for a placement interview helps find the right level. Sign-up should lead straight to the course date, with payment or invoice, email confirmation and a reminder before the start. Only ask for what you need; ID or residence details only when a funding programme requires them.

Explain funding clearly

Many participants can get their course funded. With an education voucher from the German employment agency, training costs are covered under Section 81 of Social Code III if the course and the provider are approved, in practice certified under AZAV. Integration courses require approval by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. Employers also pay for language courses.

Explain on a dedicated page which funding you accept and how it works. That brings participants who otherwise wouldn't book. Online courses with pre-produced content and progress checks should also be checked against the Distance Learning Protection Act.

Multilingual and cost

A language school should address its audiences in their language, with separate URLs per language version. A language school website with course catalogue, placement, online sign-up and two languages starts at €1,800 with us; integration with your course management is scoped in the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Is an online placement test worth it?
Yes, as a first orientation. For the final placement a short conversation is often more accurate, especially for speaking skills.
How do we show free course places in real time?
Ideally automatically from your course management. If that isn't possible, maintain dates and places in the editor.
Can we offer the website in our participants' languages?
Yes. Choose languages by where your participants come from and have texts checked by native speakers.
