Websites for engineering firms: disciplines, projects and public clients

Engineering firms for structural design, building services, civil engineering or surveying are sought by developers, architects, companies and public clients. All of them check the same things: discipline, reference projects, qualifications and capacity. At the same time, engineering firms are constantly looking for staff. The website must serve both sides. Examples use German rules.

Define disciplines and services clearly

Create a page for each discipline, such as structural design, heating and ventilation, electrical design, fire protection, energy consulting or site supervision. Describe which work stages you cover, for which building types and with which software or method, such as BIM.

Project pages as references

References decide, especially in public tenders. Each project page names the client (with consent), building task, scope, period and specifics such as work on existing buildings or tight schedules. Structured project pages can be reused for tender submissions.

Professional title, chamber and fees

In Germany the title "Ingenieur" is protected by the state engineering acts; only members of the chamber of engineers may use "Beratender Ingenieur" (consulting engineer). The legal notice must include title, chamber and professional rules, plus professional liability insurance details under Section 2 DL-InfoV.

Since the EU Court of Justice struck down the HOAI's binding minimum and maximum rates in 2019, the fee tables are guide values and fees are agreed in text form. Explain on the website what fees depend on.

Finding staff and cost

Engineers and technical draughtspeople choose employers by projects, training and working model. A careers page with current projects, software, remote work policy and salary range helps. An engineering firm website with discipline pages, project database and careers section starts at €1,800 with us.

Frequently asked questions

How many reference projects should be on the website?
A few well-described ones per discipline beat long lists without content. Choose projects that match the work you want more of.
Does a website bring public contracts?
Indirectly. Public contracts go through tender procedures, but contracting authorities and partner firms check your website as a reference.
Can we add new projects ourselves?
Yes. Projects with key facts, text and images are edited in the editor.
