Websites for car repair shops: appointments, prices and drivers' trust
Drivers usually look for a workshop in two situations: something is broken and it has to be quick, or a service, tyre change or roadworthiness test is due. In both cases trust and availability decide. The website must show that the workshop knows the vehicle, quotes fair prices and has a slot soon.
Describe services the way customers search
Customers don't search for "vehicle repair services" but for something specific. Create separate pages for the main services:
- Servicing to manufacturer specifications, including vehicles under warranty.
- Roadworthiness and emissions tests (HU/AU in Germany), noting whether the testing organisation comes on site.
- Tyre changes and storage, with seasonal online booking.
- Brakes, air-conditioning service, diagnostics, accident repair.
- Specialisms: certain brands, electric and hybrid vehicles, classic cars, vans.
Appointment requests with vehicle data
A good form asks for registration or the type codes from the vehicle papers, mileage, service needed and preferred date. The workshop can check parts in advance and plan realistically. For seasonal peaks like tyre changes, real online booking with fixed slots pays off.
Many calls come in while everyone is working in the bay. Missed calls are lost jobs; a callback request on the website or a phone assistant catches them.
Prices: transparent and correct
Under Section 12 of Germany's Price Indication Ordinance, a workshop offering services to consumers needs a price list of its main services or hourly rates including VAT, displayed on the premises. If you show prices on the website, the same applies: final prices including VAT.
Fixed prices for standard services such as tyre changes, air-conditioning service or a basic service per vehicle class build trust and lower the barrier. For repairs, explain that a cost estimate is prepared and approved before work begins.
Trust and visibility
Reviews are decisive for workshops. Actively ask satisfied customers for a Google review, for example with a link in the invoice email, and answer critical reviews factually. Photos of the real workshop and team, master craftsman certificate, certifications and manufacturer approvals belong on the website.
A workshop website with service pages, appointment requests and local SEO basics starts at €1,800 fixed price with us; integration with your workshop software is scoped in the quote.
Frequently asked questions
- Should a workshop show prices on the website?
- For standard services, yes, as final prices including VAT. For repairs a clear process with a cost estimate matters more than a price list.
- Is online booking worth it for tyre changes?
- Yes. Seasonal peaks are much easier to plan with fixed slots, and customers also book in the evening.
- How do we get more Google reviews?
- Ask right after collection and send a link. Buying reviews or asking only happy customers selectively is not allowed.
