Websites for beauty salons, nail and cosmetics studios: booking, prices, images
Beauty salon clients decide quickly and visually: do they like the results, does the price fit, is there a slot today or tomorrow? The website is both shop window and reception. This article shows how it fills appointments, reduces no-shows and follows the rules on images and prices that apply in Germany.
Online booking is essential
Few industries book online as much as cosmetics, nails and lashes. A booking system that knows treatment duration, staff member and breaks belongs prominently on every page. A confirmation and a reminder the day before, by email, SMS or WhatsApp, matter.
Clear rules help against late cancellations: free cancellation up to 24 or 48 hours before, then a cancellation fee or a deposit for long treatments. The rule must be shown clearly and accepted before booking.
Price list: complete and with final prices
In Germany anyone offering services to consumers needs a price list of their main services under Section 12 of the Price Indication Ordinance, displayed in the salon. A complete price list isn't mandatory online, but it's the strongest reason to book. Show final prices including VAT, the duration of each treatment and what's included.
Images: show results, clear the rights
Before-and-after images sell, but need the consent of the person shown under Section 22 of the German Art Copyright Act (KUG), ideally in writing and stating where the images will appear. Don't edit result photos so they suggest an outcome the treatment doesn't deliver.
Mind the line to medical treatment: procedures such as wrinkle fillers count as medicine in Germany and may only be offered by doctors or licensed non-medical practitioners. For cosmetic surgery, advertising to consumers with before-and-after images is prohibited under the Medicinal Products Advertising Act.
Being found
Clients search for "beauty salon", "nail salon" or a specific treatment plus neighbourhood. A maintained Google Business Profile with photos, hours and booking link, and a page per main treatment on the website, bring the most. Instagram shows the work; the website turns it into bookings. A salon website with booking integration, price list and treatment pages starts at €1,800 with us.
Frequently asked questions
- Which booking system fits?
- One that models your treatments, staff and rooms, sends reminders and offers a data processing agreement. We integrate the system of your choice.
- Can we show client photos from Instagram on the website?
- Only with the person's consent for the website. Consent for Instagram doesn't automatically cover other channels.
- Is selling gift vouchers online worth it?
- Yes, especially before holidays. Online vouchers bring revenue without an appointment, and new clients when given as gifts.
