Websites for SaaS startups: pricing, trust and pages that bring trial users
A SaaS website has a different job from a service provider's site: it should get visitors to try the product themselves or book a demo, and give B2B buyers every document their IT and data protection teams ask for. Many startups invest heavily in the product and too little in the pages that sell it.
The home page: clear in five seconds
Visitors must instantly understand what the product does, for whom and why it beats the status quo, usually a spreadsheet or a manual process. A real screenshot or a short product video beats any abstract illustration. A clear call to action, such as "Try for 14 days" or "Book a demo", sits at the top and repeats.
The pricing page is the most visited subpage
Prospects want to know whether a trial is worth it. Show plans with prices, limits and what each includes, and answer common questions right below: per-seat or flat billing, cancellation, VAT, what happens after the trial. "Contact us for pricing" only makes sense for enterprise plans.
Trust for B2B buyers
Larger customers check security and privacy before buying. Have ready:
- A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR to download and a list of sub-processors.
- A security page: hosting location, encryption, backups, access control, certifications if you have them.
- Legal notice, privacy policy and terms that match the product.
- A status page and changelog so customers see the product is maintained.
Pages that bring users through search
SaaS buyers search for problems ("create quotes faster"), for alternatives ("alternative to …") and for integrations ("connect … with DATEV"). Each pattern deserves its own pages with real content: use cases per industry, honest comparisons with competitors and a page per integration with setup and limits.
If you sell in several countries, plan language versions cleanly with their own URLs. If your product provides e-commerce services to consumers in the EU, accessibility rules under the European Accessibility Act may apply since June 2025.
Tracking through to sign-up
Measure not just visits but sign-ups, activated trials and demo bookings per landing page. Only then do you see which content brings customers. A SaaS website with home, pricing and security pages and templates for use cases starts at €1,800 with us; a single launch landing page from €600.
Frequently asked questions
- Should the website and app run on the same domain?
- A proven setup is the website on the main domain and the app on a subdomain such as app.your-product.com. Both can then be developed and deployed independently.
- Do we need a blog?
- Yes, if it answers your buyers' questions and links to product pages. General industry news rarely brings trial users.
- Can we maintain the website ourselves?
- Yes. Text, prices, changelog and blog are edited in the content system; we build new page types when needed.
