Website for a consulting business: explain the engagement and prepare qualified first conversations
A consulting buyer initially faces a service that is difficult to inspect. Your website should explain the situations you handle, the work product they receive and the information needed for a useful first conversation. Start with buying decisions before choosing page layouts.
Organize around decisions and deliverables
Use the homepage to introduce your audience and services. Give distinct engagements their own explanations: process discovery, sales organization or implementation support. Explain methods within the approach; a method name does not replace the customer's problem.
For each engagement, record starting situation, buyer, deliverable, required client involvement and exclusions. An illustrative brief might specify a documented process review and prioritized recommendations, with technical implementation quoted separately. This is a planning example, not a claim about client work.
Make the work assessable
Show an approved work product, a permitted anonymized example or a clearly labelled demonstration. A sample process review can show steps, owners, handoffs and unanswered questions. It helps the buyer understand what follows the conversation.
Introduce the people actually involved and their verifiable qualifications. Do not publish an unapproved client list or invented revenue improvements. When using genuine references, explain the starting situation, your contribution and the limits of the result.
Prepare the first enquiry
A short form needs enough context to route the enquiry, not an entire business analysis. Request confidential material later through an agreed secure process. A public first-contact form usually does not need a customer database or internal contracts.
- Company and contact person.
- Current situation in a few sentences.
- Desired work product or decision to make.
- Timeframe and available stakeholders.
- Preferred response channel and working language.
Brief the build and verify the handover
Before development, agree pages, languages, editorial ownership and calendar or CRM handoff. Clarify whether a booking is confirmed immediately or creates a request. Test notifications and ownership, not just the visible calendar.
After launch, track enquiries by service, suitability of conversations and recurring clarification questions. If people repeatedly request excluded work, clarify the scope. Use genuine questions for supporting articles rather than creating additional pages for synonyms.
Frequently asked questions
- Does each consulting method need a page?
- Only if it represents a distinct buying decision. Otherwise explain it within the relevant service page.
- What can we show without public references?
- A labelled demonstration, the concrete process and verifiable qualifications. Confidential client examples require permission.
Send your engagements, audience and desired path from enquiry to conversation. We can discuss the structure and implementation.
