HubSpot vs Pipedrive: which CRM fits your sales team?

HubSpot and Pipedrive are the two CRMs small sales teams compare most often. Both are good, but they solve different problems: Pipedrive is a lean tool for salespeople moving deals through a pipeline. HubSpot is a platform that aims to connect marketing, sales and service. Which fits depends on where your leads come from and how much you want to automate.

The core difference in one sentence

Pipedrive organises deals; HubSpot organises the whole path from first website visit to customer. If your salespeople mainly chase quotes, book meetings and close deals, Pipedrive is usually faster to roll out and more popular with the team. If leads come through the website, forms, newsletters and ads and you want to see which channel brings revenue, HubSpot plays to its strengths.

Cost: seats, tiers and add-ons

Pipedrive charges per user per month in four tiers. Billed annually, 2026 list prices ranged from about €14 (Lite) to €79 (Ultimate) per user, more when billed monthly. Some features such as lead forms or document templates are paid add-ons on the smaller tiers.

HubSpot has a free CRM and paid "Hubs" for marketing, sales and service in Starter, Professional and Enterprise tiers. Starter is cheap per seat; the jump to Professional is large and usually comes with a one-off onboarding fee. Many of the automations HubSpot is known for start at Professional.

So don't compare entry prices. Compare the tier that actually covers your key workflows, times the number of users, times 24 months. Current prices are on the official pricing pages and change regularly.

Privacy and data location

Both vendors offer EU hosting: HubSpot has run an EU data centre since 2021, and according to its documentation Pipedrive hosts EU accounts in EU regions (Frankfurt and Dublin). Some sub-processors may still be outside the EU. Check the data processing agreement, the sub-processor list and your account's actual storage location when you sign up. Our article on CRM and GDPR covers what to watch inside the CRM itself.

Rollout and integrations

Many teams are productive in Pipedrive within days: define pipeline stages, import data, connect email. HubSpot needs more planning because contact properties, lifecycle stages and the handover between marketing and sales must be defined cleanly, or the data quickly turns messy.

For both, the value comes from connecting website forms, email, calendar and accounting. Both have open APIs and marketplaces; for custom workflows we connect them via n8n, Make or directly through the API. An integration that automatically passes website enquiries into the CRM starts at €600 with us.

The decision rule

Choose Pipedrive if sales is the main topic, the team is small and you want to be productive in weeks rather than months. Choose HubSpot if marketing and sales should be managed together, many leads come via the website and you are ready to invest in Professional features and a proper rollout. If you already have a CRM and are unhappy, check whether the problem is the tool or the process before switching.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free HubSpot CRM enough?
For contact management and simple deal pipelines, often yes. Once you need sequences, workflows or cross-team reporting, you end up on paid tiers.
Can I move from Pipedrive to HubSpot?
Yes. Contacts, companies and deals can be exported and imported. Plan the field and pipeline stage mapping first and test the import with a sample.
Are there European alternatives?
Yes, there are CRM vendors headquartered and hosted in the EU. They're especially worth it when your customers or industry have strict data location requirements.
